One scene, nine films

The film decides the picture.

Each stock has its own colour, contrast, grain and halation, rendered on the GPU as you shoot. Pick a box: every frame below is the same photograph, exposed and developed in 35Cam.

Bright-line frames

Rangefinder frame lines show exactly what lands on film, and everything outside them stays visible, so you see a subject before it walks into the picture. Switch between 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 16:9 and the panoramic XPAN.

A lens barrel, not a slider

Jump between lenses on an engraved focal-length scale: 13, 24, 48, 96mm. Pinch for everything in between; the index mark reads out the live focal length.

A wheel you can feel

Exposure compensation is a knurled thumbwheel that clicks every third of a stop. The match-needle meter on the top plate swings as you roll it.

Leaf shutter, real prints

Press the red soft-release: eight blades snap shut, the film winds on with a ratchet you can feel, and a print develops in front of you before dropping into your prints.

Contact sheets

Every 36 exposures is a roll. Rolls are kept as strips of negatives with sprocket holes, frame numbers and the film's edge code.

Date and place

An LED date imprint in the corner, like a 90s compact (white on black & white film, as it would be). With location on, each photo remembers where it was taken.
